Institute of Ophthalmic Training

Vivekananda Mission Asram  has established a training Institute (VMAIOT) in 2003  for conducting different training courses for manpower development  and capacity building on medical, paramedical courses for all categories of staff  members of  Secondary & Tertiary Eye hospitals of different states of our country , Bangladesh and other countries.

1. Diploma in Optometry

Affiliated to: National Council of Vocational & Research Training (NCVRT), Delhi.

Intake Capacity 30 (thirty)
Duration 2 years & 6 months mandatory internship.
Age Criteria 17-25 yrs.
Academic Eligibility H.S (Arts/Sc) passed with 50% marks & biology preferable.
Mode of Selection Written exam. & viva.
Cost of Admission Form Rs. 100.00 (one hundred) only to be paid in cash.

Fees

Year Fees
1st Year Rs. 31,525.00 (Rupees thirty one thousand five hundred twenty five) only.
2nd Year Rs. 25,525.00 (Rupees twenty five thousand five hundred twenty five) only.
Examination Yearly
Hostel Facilities Accommodation is available.
Seat Rent i) Rs. 600.00 (six hundred) only per month.
ii) Food: As per own choice (available from the service centre in the premises)

Required Documents for Collection of Application Form

  • Original copy of admit card of M.P & mark sheet of H.S.

The Following are Required During Submission of Filled Application Form

  1. Self attested copy of the admit card and Marksheet of secondary or equivalent recognized examination.
  2. Self attested copy of the Marksheet of the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent recognized examination.
  3. A certificate of physical fitness mentioning Height, weight, Hearing & Vision Status, if any, from a registered medical practitioner.
  4. School character certificate.
  5. Income certificate of the guardian from the respective Authority (B.D.O).

2. Diploma in Ophthalmic Clinical Assistance (Ophthalmic Nurse): 2026-2028

Affiliated to: Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, West Bengal.

Intake Capacity 15 (fifteen)
Duration 2 years & 6 months mandatory internship.
Age Criteria 17-22 yrs.
Academic Eligibility H.S (Arts/Sc) passed (2024 to 2026) with 50% marks & biology preferable.
Mode of Selection Written exam. & viva.

Fees

Year Fees
1st Year Rs. 26,500.00 (Rupees twenty six thousand five hundred) only.
2nd Year Rs. 20,500.00 (Rupees twenty thousand five hundred) only.
Stipend / Month i) Rs. 1000.00 (one thousand) for 2nd year.
ii) Rs. 2000.00 (two thousand) during
Examination Semester (two semester per year)
